Four black teens sue Toronto police, allege bias in arrest

It seems the police will often falsely accuse people of ‘spitting’ on them to justify their excessive use of force, because spitting is a form of assault, but leaves no evidence, as the police officer will say he wiped it off and cleaned the area to avoid the possibility of infection. Even in video evidence, it would be difficult to tell if a person spit or not. I would go so far as to say this is unwritten procedure when there is a risk of an excessive force complaint against an officer to accuse a subject of assault by spitting. -DPOH
